A 900-watt infrared heater can boil a liter of water over 30% faster than a conventional, 1200-watt ceramic hot plate. Rare earth magnets provide powerful stirring—up to 15 liters—and feedback control from 100 to 1500 rpm.

"Hot" warning light flashes when the plate temperature is above 50 °C and remains lit even when the unit is turned off.

Units feature BioCote antimicrobial protection which reduces the presence of odor and stain causing microbes such as bacteria, mold, and fungi on the product surface by up to 99.99%.

The Cole-Parmer SHP-200-IR-L Infrared Stirring Hot Plate is a high-capacity analog heating & stirring unit built for demanding large-volume laboratory workflows. Equipped with a 30×30 cm chemical-resistant glass ceramic surface and efficient 900W infrared heating technology, it delivers faster, uniform heating compared with traditional hot plates.

Powerful rare-earth magnet system supports stable stirring volumes up to 15 L with closed-loop speed control ranging from 100–1500 rpm. The ceramic top remains cool along outer edges to lower burn risks. Built-in BioCote® antimicrobial protection suppresses bacteria and mould growth for cleaner lab environments. An independent flashing hot warning light activates above 50°C and continues working even after power-off. Supplied with retort rod mounting point, analog dual-knob control and operates on 230 VAC mains power, ideal for chemistry, pharmaceutical and microbiology labs requiring simultaneous heating and stirring.
