Q15: Why use low profile copper foil for high-frequency and high-speed PCBs?
A: The signal loss is positively correlated with the roughness of copper foil. Ordinary copper foil has large peaks and valleys, resulting in high conductivity loss. HVLP, RTF, VLP and other low profile copper foils have smoother surfaces, which can significantly reduce the transmission loss caused by skin effect, and are standard for M6/M7/M8 boards.
